This was a classic bait and switch and we fell for it, hook, line, and sinker. The best site we found was the web page of an actual auto insurance company that everyone has probably heard of. They had a fairly simple page that we filled in for a quote and a couple of minutes later we got an accurate quote that was very reasonable and then we had the option to save the quote for later, chat with a customer service representative, or to speak with someone over the telephone. Instant car insurance quotes are not quite as instant as oatmeal or coffee, but they are certainly much faster than they used to be; provided you use the actual company web site and not some third party site that only exists to host ads.
